I had a mission this morning. To refresh the décor on my coffee table… and not buy anything new to do that with. Easier said than done, right? Coffee table decor using by shopping your house!
Well, with the current state of affairs in the world, I didn’t really have much of a choice. It’s not too easy to go shopping right now.
To start with, I removed everything off the coffee table to give myself a fresh start. Anybody else do that, too?
Then the fun began, moving things around, switching things, out. Tweaking here and there.
This is what I ended up with.
On the one end, I piled some books which I pulled off my bookshelf and then stacked a candle on top. My two boys love the smell of this candle. It’s a Mimosa rose scent, made by Gold Canyon.
The wood slice and “vase” sitting on it are both from yard sales and it’s actually not even a vase, it’s a PartyLite candleholder. Repurposing, right? The faux hydrangeas are from Ikea once upon a time… aka they’re probably 10-12 years old… and still in great shape.
The wood crate on the other end I filled with a few random flowers and candles. I literally went to my faux floral stash and just stuck in all the odds and ends. Nothing really “matches”, but I think it turned out ok in the end. The two mercury glass candlesticks were a thrift store score!
In the words of this little fellow, “It’s really pretty mommy… a lot prettier than normal.” My husband’s thoughts were pretty much opposite. He thought it looked cluttered.
Come back later to see the rest of the room. As a result of this coffee table refresh the living room might have gotten some rearranging, too.
