I recently acquired this old piece of furniture and I thought it would be fun to give it a DIY Dresser Makeover and then apply a vinyl decal cut with my cricut to the front to jazz it up.
Here it is in all its nasty gloriousness. I have painted quite a few dressers and other pieces of furniture and it always amazes me how people can live with such dirty furniture in their homes. The amount of dirt I have scrubbed off old furniture could fill in a small ocean!

DIY Dresser Makeover:
To give you an idea of what I was dealing with with this DIY dresser makeover, it took me about an hour and a half to sand and scrub the dresser. The total time it took to actually apply the paint? One hour. That included one coat of primer and two coats of paint.
Even after one coat of primer, it was already looking so much fresher.

Here it is all painted up, but without the decal. I also had filled in the original handle holes and then we drilled new holes for glass knobs to give it a bit of sparkle.

I used this link to create my decal. You can download the image yourself and then uploaded it to Cricut Design Space and cut it out on some vinyl. I used removable vinyl because I am planning on selling it and that way whoever buys it can just take it off if they get tired of it in the future, or if they don’t like it.
And here it is with the decal:

What do you think of my DIY Dresser Makeover? With or without the decal? Without the decal it could work in a boys’ room, but the decal certainly makes it more feminine.
Did you like this post? I would love it if you pinned it!
