Easy Father’s Day Gift Idea with Free Printable Label

June 12, 2020      3 Comments

Who loves clementines? Who buys a lot of clementines and keeps a few of the crates around because they “might come in handy sometime?” If this is you, then I have a great Father’s Day gift idea for you. And a free printable label to help you out. Just see the bottom of the post for the freebie!

clementine crate upcycle

Upcycle your own clementine crate for someone special.

First off you need an old clementine crate. If you don’t have one of those, a wood tote of some sorts, or a basket could work. Even a cardboard box if you are creative!

I painted mine brown inside and out, to resemble stained wood for a rustic effect. But you could paint yours any number of fun colours! What’s your dad’s favorite colour? You will need to drill holes through the ends for your rope handles. My rope is just from the Dollarama.

Then, you’ll need to print off your labels and choose which one you would like to use. There’s one that says pop, if you choose to put pop in your gift, or there’s 2 others that just say Happy Father’s Day, if you’re giving Dad something else.

You’ll have to attach your label to the side. You can use glue, or double sided tape. It all depends on how permanent you want it to be. I just used double sided tape and it stuck just fine. That way the crate can be used again for something else, if they want.

Then you’ll need to add your pop cans. I shredded up some brown paper to use as filler, which worked with the rustic look it has.

Then, surprise the dads in your life with a fun treat this Father’s Day.

My husband will be the recipient of this gift. It’s Baja Blast Mountain Dew and it’s my son Luke’s favorite. He thought it would be fun to give it to his daddy. To be honest, I think he just likes the sound of the name because he loves going around saying it randomly.

Did you like this post and are considering making it? I would love to hear about it in the comment section! Also, I would love it if you pinned it!
